Aloha :o),

I was born in Akron, Ohio 21 May 1933. Enlisted in US Navy on my 17th birthday and retired in Nov 1973. I live, with my wife Cathy, in Waianae, Hawaii.

I served on two naval vessels; USS Missouri (BB-63) & USS Forrestal (CVA-59). Served on the battleship in Korea 1950/52 and "boots on the ground" in Vietnam at MACV/SOG . I served approx. 10 years in NATO commands including at the HQ in Paris, France for 3 years prior to Nam and for 3 years in Brussels, Belgium after Nam. I retired as a YNCS(SW).

During my service I was awarded 29 awards/medals, including the Combat Action Ribbon, two JSCM's & two NCM's, Presidential Unit Citations from Korea/Vietnam/U.S. I received my ESWS pin (complimentary) from the C.O. of USS Reuben James (FFG-57).

I am one of the Supervisors of Volunteer Groups and am a frequent Guest Speaker(GS) representing the USS Missouri Memorial Association. I am the annual GS for newly selected CPO's during the USS Missouri's CPO Legacy Academy. I was one of the Guest Speakers at the Awards Banquet in Seoul, South Korea in Sep 2013.

I am also a part of the USS Missouri Memorial Association's Wounded Warrior Program. I have been a pro-active "grass roots" supporter of legislation affecting disabled Veterans since 1989 and am presently working with Hawaii State legislators and Federal legislators on proposed bills affecting Veterans.

Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum; a sailor's work is never done! Take care!
