ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A World War II Veteran on a mission made a stop in the mountains Monday.
Sidney Walton is traveling across the country to make sure people never forget the sacrifices he and other service members made decades ago.
The 100-year-old, who has spent the past year on his No Regrets Tour, said he started it because the number of World War II Veterans is dwindling.
"And it's called the No Regrets Tour because isn't it true that when you were young you had the opportunity to meet Civil War Veterans and you never did and you regret that to this day," Walton said.
There was a stop in Asheville on Monday after a meeting with Gov. Roy Cooper just a week ago.
The No Regrets mission is to meet every governor in every state.
