WASHINGTON,D.C.(WFLA) - It happened again this week.
The Department of Veterans Affairs tried to torpedo efforts to expand Agent Orange benefits to tens of thousands of Vietnam War Veterans.
A bill that would extend those benefits to sailors who served aboard ships that served in the harbors, bays and territorial waters of Vietnam unanimously passed in the U.S. House of Representatives.
In Washington this week, VA Under Secretary Paul Lawrence told the Senate's Committee on Veterans Affairs, the science isn't there that shows that Navy personnel who did not set foot on land were exposed to agent Orange.
Supporters of the so called Blue Water Navy contend the VA was telling half truths and in some cases outright lies.
