Cpl. Cody A. Putman, 22, of Lafayette, Ind., died Apr. 12, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq, when his patrol encountered an improvised explosive device.
Putman was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
We remember his service and honor his sacrifice.
