Join DAV in our support of S. 302—the Captain Rafael Barbosa Enhanced Colorectal Cancer Screening Standard for Toxic Exposed Members of the Uniformed Services Act.

Former Army Capt. Rafael Barbosa is living with stage 4 colon cancer after his service in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he was exposed to burn pits. S. 302 would authorize the Department of Defense (DOD) to provide service members who have been exposed to burn pits or other toxins with preventive colorectal screenings while on active duty.

The Barbosa Act will help ensure that service members exposed to toxins will have the vital screenings to identify cancer while still on active duty. These early detections can save lives and ease access to VA health care and VA benefits after service. DAV fully support S. 302 as it is in accordance with DAV Resolution No. 087.

Please contact your senators to request their cosponsorship and support of S. 302 to provide these cancer screenings after exposure to toxic environments.

Thank you for your support of DAV Commander's Action Network.
